Transforming Anger: 2-night NVC Workshop
February 27, 2017 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm PST| by-donation
We all know what anger feels like. Your jaw clenches and your heartbeat increases. You are on the precipice of saying or doing something that will make matters worse. Anger is a powerful emotion that clouds your judgement and decreases connection. It stimulates the fight, flight or freeze response which disconnects us from what we really want.
In this workshop, we will learn new ways to discover what you need and how to meet your needs in constructive ways. Through the process of Nonviolent Communication, you can get clear on what is important to you and what makes life more wonderful by focusing on strategies that transform anger into positive actions.
We Practice To…
• Distinguish our actual observations from our story about what happened
• Translate our judgmental thoughts into the underlying feelings and needs
• Receive “hard to hear” statements without taking it personally
• Make requests while holding everyone’s needs as equally important
• Support our own values while honoring the needs of others
Monday, February 27 6:15-8:00pm
Tuesday, February 28 6:15-8:00pm
Things to bring:
notebook, pen/pencil, willingness to learn and support yourself and others through all of our learning experiences
Getting to the Event
This event is on New Montgomery Street, not Montgomery Street. Take the elevators to the third floor. Exit left out of the elevator, and left again down the long hallway. The space will be towards the end on the left.
There is no fee for this workshop.
However, if you feel moved to support me, Kat, and the work I am doing, I am happy (and grateful) to accept donations to help out with the costs incurred bringing this event to the community.
If not, I’m cool with that too. I appreciate your time, effort and interest.
